Clint and Kira Proper: Our Story
Picture it. Copake, New York, early 1998. Kira was working at a humble family-owned video rental store. Clint was renting videos at said rental store. Phone numbers were exchanged and two lives collided.
On March 6, 1998, we went on our first date, to see “The Big Lebowski” at the Millerton Movie House.
It didn’t take long for Clint to ask the big question and we were married in 1999.
Over the next 20+ years, the two of us built lives, bought a house in Claverack, adopted a pack of rescue dogs, climbed the corporate ladder, and knew there had to be more to life than paychecks.
Then, in December 2023, Kira had an idea, THE IDEA, the one that would change our lives: let’s start a business! We’ll do dinner parties like no one else, dinner parties with something extra. Clint has several years of professional cooking experience, and Kira is a former HR executive, skilled in communication, customer service, and sales. It might go without saying, but we’ll say it anyway. We love food, we love cannabis, and we love supporting local businesses. Together, we have hosted parties of all sizes, at our home and other locations, cooked and served food to thousands of people, and had a blast doing it.
That’s right, fun is what it’s all about. We take ourselves seriously, but not too seriously. If you want a pretentious caterer who will top everything with caviar and add meat to your dessert, that’s not us.
